Students in a Career Exploration class at Carson Middle School helped organize a successful Career Day on April 5th.

Each student was required to research the profession that they are most interested in. Then their teacher, Ms. Wilkening taught students how to write a business letter and invite a guest to Career Day.

On top of that, another teacher, Mrs. Johnson also worked to get as many unique companies representing numerous career clusters as possible.

Students were also required to work at Career Day either directing students as they entered the event or cleaning up after each group left.

Around 600 middle schoolers attended the event. From the career fair, each attendee filled out a passport about a few of the careers that they found interesting and what income is possible.

Career Day is a good way for students to find out about jobs they may be interested in pursuing in the future or learn about a career path that they did not know existed. Students may find that they would like to look into it further and possibly follow a path in high school that will give them the knowledge and skill they need.
