The Carson Middle School Band is a highly engaged program serving more than 220 student musicians. Students have many opportunities to grow through a variety of ensembles and performance experiences.
Our program includes:
- Two ability-based advanced curricular ensembles
- Four beginning band classes, organized by instrument family
- Two extracurricular jazz bands
- One extracurricular intermediate band
Our Mission
The mission of the Carson Middle School Band program is to develop confident young musicians by prioritizing meaningful student learning, pursuing musical excellence, and fostering a positive environment where students feel valued, supported, and motivated to succeed.
Performances and Achievements
Carson Middle School Bands regularly participate in festivals, contests, and clinics across Colorado. Most recently, our Advanced Jazz Band performed at the Fountain–Fort Carson Jazz Festival, where they earned an “Excellent” rating.
All curricular ensembles perform in at least four concerts each year, and all second- and third-year students participate in the FFC8 Solo and Ensemble Festival.
CMS band students are also highly active in musical opportunities outside of school. Eight CMS students auditioned and were selected to perform with the Pikes Peak Honor Jazz and Concert Bands this year!
